Job summary

Rebound Orthopedics & Neurosurgery in Camas, WA is seeking a full-time Physical Therapy Aide to support clinicians. You will assist with patient set-ups, transport, ambulation, therapeutic techniques and maintain department inventory in a busy rehab setting.

This position offers mentorship for those pursuing a physical therapy career, opportunities to learn treatment procedures, HIPAA compliance, and a welcoming team.

Qualifications

  • Completion of high school, GED or equivalent.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Prior healthcare experience preferred.
  • Strong interest in physical therapy/health professions.
  • Ability to successfully complete Rebound Physical Therapy Department training program within two months of employment.
  • Effective organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Administer routine patient treatment under supervision of a Physical Therapist and Physical Therapist Assistants.
  • Transport/escort patients to Physical Therapy treatment as needed.
  • Monitor patient reactions to therapy and report changes to therapist.
  • Maintain inventory of department equipment, linen and supplies.
  • Perform receptionist/clerical duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Attend staff meetings/read newsletters to stay informed of department procedures.
  • Train other PT Aides on duties related to the clinic.
  • Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
  • Frequent lifting; Must be able to lift, move or assist patients weighing up to 300 pounds or more with help of other staff members using proper body mechanics.
  • Frequent carrying of 20-30 pounds for distances of 100-200 feet.
  • Frequent pushing/pulling, bending, crouching, crawling, squatting, getting in awkward positions and stair-climbing.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range for staff and patient safety.
  • Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
