Overview

The Physical Therapist is responsible for planning and providing physical therapy treatment for patients in accordance with professional and Methodist Healthcare standards of treatment, modelling appropriate behavior in line with MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial patient assessment.
• Implement patient treatment plans based on assessment and written plan.
• Provide ongoing assessment through observation and review of patient records.
• Identify patient‑specific rehabilitation learning needs and provide appropriate education.
• Demonstrate initiative in identifying opportunities for self‑development and enhancement of professional competency.

Education / Formal Training Requirements

Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy

Physical Demands

May include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. Must have good balance and coordination. Media of medium effort, lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally or 25 lbs. frequently. Requires close visual acuity including color, depth perception and field of vision. Frequent invasive and non‑invasive patient contact and exposure to patient body fluids or hazardous materials. Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
