Job summary

Optum in Redding, California seeks a full-time Physical Therapist to evaluate functional status, develop plans of care, and deliver therapy in home health settings.

You will work with physicians and nurses, document progress notes, ensure state licensure requirements, and participate in a comprehensive benefits program. A valid California PT license and reliable transportation are required; CPR certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Physical Therapy licensure in the state of California.
• Current driver’s license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or reliable public transportation.
• Preferred: CPR certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates the patient's functional status and physical therapy needs; assists the physician in developing the therapy plan of care.
• Provides services within the scope of practice as defined by state laws, in accordance with the plan of care, and in coordination with other health‑care team members.
• Observes and reports the patient's response to treatment and any changes in condition to the supervising nurse and/or physician.
• Treats patients to relieve pain, develop and restore function, and/or maintain maximum functioning using acceptable standards of practice.
• Instructs and informs participating health‑care team members, the patient, and family or caregivers regarding the plan of care, functional limitations, and progress toward goals.
• Visits patients according to the Plan of Treatment, completes a progress note for each visit, and submits progress notes per LHC policy.
• Completes all patient evaluations and develops the PT plan of care within state‑specific guidelines.
• Reports outcomes of evaluation, goals, and anticipated projected frequency of care.
• Demonstrates the ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client.

Benefits & Compensation

Pay ranges from $89,376 to $134,064 annually based on full‑time employment.
