Job summary

The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia is hiring for a physical therapy role within UVA Community Health. The position provides therapy services in accordance with licensure, evaluates patients, establishes a plan of care, implements treatment, and documents progress.

The incumbent may supervise therapy assistants and students, collaborate with other health care providers, and support staff training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited PT program.
• No experience necessary.
• Virginia State Therapy License, Physical Therapist Trainee in Virginia, or Compact Privilege.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapy services to clients including evaluation, plan of care, implementation, and documentation.
• Supervise therapy assistants, technicians, students, and volunteers as applicable.
• Communicate with other health care providers regarding patient care and treatment plans.
• Provide training and education for hospital staff as requested.
• Complete patient documentation in a timely manner to meet regulatory and organizational requirements.
• Attend continuing education programs and present findings to appropriate staff as applicable.
• Review and complete all insurance authorization requirements for patients in a timely manner.
• Assist with performance improvement for rehab department and hospital.
• Understand use and precautions of any treatments and equipment used.
• Positively contributes to the departmental financial performance/productivity.

  • Completes patient evaluations and treatments independently while maintaining patient safety.

  • Independently establishes/implements treatment goals and plans based on patient input and evaluation and assessment results.
  • Reassesses outcomes and modifies goals and plans to meet changing needs of the patient.

• The base compensation range for this role is $37.72 - $58.89 hourly.

  Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education. Please note that the pay range does not include any applicable incentive compensation programs such as shift differentials, clinical ladders, and other incentives that may be available for those in eligible positions.
