MedStar Health is seeking a Physical Therapist to join our team at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in the Baltimore area. The role includes screening, evaluation, treatment planning and implementation, re-evaluation, discharge planning, and comprehensive documentation across diverse clinical settings.

The ideal candidate will have a Doctoral/Professional degree in Physical Therapy and licensure in MD/DC/VA, plus BLS certification.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Maryland, District of Columbia (DC), and/or Virginia licensure required as deemed necessary for your location(s).
  • BLS (Basic Life Support).

Responsibilities

  • Provides evaluation services including review of pertinent historical information, performance of specific assessments, and determination of recommendations and documentation of results.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in implementation of treatment protocols based upon evaluation findings, the patient's presentation, and changing health care environment.
  • Completes discharge planning and follow-up care with timely documentation and appropriate charges.
  • Manages scheduling to meet productivity expectations and facilitates frictionless patient access to care.
  • Takes initiative in continuing education and serves as a clinical instructor to students and staff.

About this Job: MedStar Health is looking for a Physical Therapist to join our team at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital!

The Physical Therapist provides physical therapy services to patients, to include screening and evaluation, treatment planning, treatment implementation, treatment re-assessment and revision, patient/client re-evaluation, discharge planning, and documentation in a variety of settings. The Physical Therapistparticipatesas requested in program planning and protocol development andassiststhe team in meeting established goals.

Primary Duties:
  • Providesevaluation services including review of pertinenthistoricalinformation, performance of specific assessments, and determination of recommendations and documentation of results. Explains evaluation findings and treatmentplantopatientand family and incorporatespatientand family in the goals setting.

  • Demonstratesproficiencyin implementation of treatment protocols based upon evaluation findings, the patient's presentation, and the evolving health care environment.Consultswith other healthcare professionals asindicated. Recognizes and documents changes in patient's condition requiring modification of the plan of care and/or the need for medical/rehabilitation consultation.

  • Completesappropriate dischargeplanning and follow-up care. Accurately andtimelydocuments and charges for patient care activitiesconsideringour evolving health care environment, painting a clear picture of the patient's course of care including focusedinitialevaluation/plan of care thatestablishesbaseline and goals, daily encounter notes, interim progress summaries, and discharge evaluation.

  • Demonstrates effective time management and meets productivity expectations. Managean accurateschedule.Demonstrates a professional commitment toprovidefrictionless patient access to care through flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and actions/behaviors that display empathy in our patient consumer driven environment.

  • Takes initiative in pursuing and directing continuing education for professional growth and competency for self and organization. Serves as a clinical instructor to assign students.Assistswith orientation and mentoring ofnew staff, students, volunteers, and technicians.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.

  • Maryland, District of Columbia (DC), and/or Virginia licensurerequiredasdeemednecessary for your specific location(s).

  • BLS (Basic Life Support).

This position has a hiring range of : USD $74,214.00 - USD $134,596.00 /Yr.
