Job summary

Sterling Therapy Providers is seeking a Physical Therapist (PT) for a full-time position in Massachusetts. The PT will organize and conduct therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation, directing residents in tasks to restore independence and productivity while maintaining safety.

The role requires completing documentation, collaborating with the rehab team, and training staff in therapy techniques. Competitive hourly rates ($45–$53) with benefits and potential PRN opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program.
  • Licensed and/or eligible for state licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate residents and develop goals, implement the therapy plan, and document services.
  • Design and fit adaptive devices and train residents in their use.
  • Select physical agent modalities suited to the individual’s needs.
  • Consult with rehabilitation team to choose the best regimen.
  • Instruct residents in mobility skills and assess progress.
  • Adapt the program to the resident’s needs and promote safety.
  • Attend care conferences and supervise supportive personnel.

Full-Time Rate: $45 to $53 PER HOUR
PRN Rate: $55 to $60 PER HOUR

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Physical Therapist organizes and conducts physical therapy programs for the facility to facilitate rehabilitation. He/she directs client participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance. In addition, the Physical Therapist facilitates the learning of those skills and functions essential for promoting independence and productivity, in order to diminish or correct pathology. He/she directs activities to promote and maintain health.

RESPONSIBLITIES/ ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • 1 Evaluates residents, develops appropriate treatment goals, and methods, implements the physical therapy treatment plan, and completes all related documentation and record keeping regarding these services; services include application of therapeutic techniques in areas such as gait, ambulation, muscle strength, coordination, endurance, mobility, posture control, sensory awareness, sitting and standing skills, balance and orientation;
  • 2 Designs and fits adaptive devices, and trains residents in the use of adaptive devices including orthotics and prosthetics;
  • 3 Selects physical agent modalities suited to the individual’s needs, physical capacity, mobility activities and diagnosis;
  • 4 Consults with other members of the rehabilitation team to select the most appropriate therapeutic regimen consistent with the needs and capabilities of each resident;
  • 5 Instructs resident in the skills and techniques required for participation in mobility activities, and evaluates client progress, attitudes, and behavior as related to rehabilitative potential;
  • 6 Adapts program according to the needs of individual resident;
  • 7 Promotes a safe environment and enforces the elimination of fire and safety hazards;
  • 8 Attends and contributes to resident care, staffing conferences and other related meetings;
  • 9 Supervises supportive personnel in accordance with state and professional standards;
  • 10 Conducts training programs and participates in training medical, nursing and other personnel in physical therapy techniques and objectives;
  • 11 Orders supplies and equipment as necessary;
  • 12 Cleans, maintains, identifies, and reports the need for repair of equipment as necessary;
  • 13 Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.
SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Graduate of a physical therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association and the American Physical Therapy Association and certified by the American Physical Therapy Association under its requirements.
