The Physical Therapist provides physical therapy services, including screening, evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-evaluation, discharge planning, and documentation to support patient progress.

This role supports program planning, collaborates with a multidisciplinary team, and contributes to education and community outreach efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.
• DC licensure required prior to beginning in role.
• BLS (Basic Life Support).

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluation services with review of historical information and documentation of results.
• Implement treatment protocols based on evaluation findings and patient presentation; modify plan as needed.
• Complete discharge planning and timely documentation of care.
• Demonstrate time management and productivity; maintain an accurate schedule.
• Participate in multidisciplinary teams and contribute to education and orientation of staff and students.

Primary Duties:

1. Providesevaluation services including review of pertinenthistoricalinformation, performance of specific assessments, and determination of recommendations and documentation of results. Explains evaluation findings and treatmentplantopatientand family and incorporatespatientand family in the goals setting.

2. Demonstratesproficiencyin implementation of treatment protocols based upon evaluation findings, the patient's presentation, and the evolving health care environment.Consultswith other healthcare professionals asindicated. Recognizes and documents changes in patient's condition requiring modification of the plan of care and/or the need for medical/rehabilitation consultation.

3. Completesappropriate dischargeplanning and follow-up care. Accurately andtimelydocuments and charges for patient care activitiesconsideringour evolving health care environment, painting a clear picture of the patient's course of care including focusedinitialevaluation/plan of care thatestablishesbaseline and goals, daily encounter notes, interim progress summaries, and discharge evaluation.

4. Demonstrates effective time management and meets productivity expectations. Managean accurateschedule.Demonstrates a professional commitment toprovidefrictionless patient access to care through flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and actions/behaviors that display empathy in our patient consumer driven environment.

5. Participates in multi-disciplinary quality and service improvement teams. Participates in meetings and on committees and represents the department and hospital in community outreach efforts. Participates in hospital and community-based marketing activities as appropriate to your role.Takes initiative in pursuing and directing continuing education for professional growth and competency for self and organization. Serves as a clinical instructor to assign students.Assistswith orientation and mentoring ofnew staff, students, volunteers, and technicians.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.

• District of Columbia (DC) licensurerequiredprior to beginning in role.

• BLS (Basic Life Support).

This position has a hiring range of : USD $65.00 - USD $65.00 /Hr.
