Job summary

Wood County Hospital is seeking a Physical Therapist to provide direct patient care across the lifespan, including evaluations and treatment planning. The role emphasizes collaboration with the care team and adherence to QA initiatives.

Must hold a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate in Physical Therapy and be licensed in Ohio. The position is full-time, day shifts, with opportunities for professional growth within a state-of-the-art facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master’s or Doctorate of Science in Physical Therapy in Ohio and licensed to practice.
• Ability to provide direct patient care across age groups (neonatal to geriatric).
• Experience with discharge planning and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care including evaluations and treatment planning.
• Supervise staff and orient new employees (PTs, PTAs, aides).
• Assist in QA studies and department initiatives.
• Collaborate on discharge planning and in-house inservices.
• Provide therapy services to contracted agencies as needed.

Major Tasks, Duties And Responsibilities

• Provides personal care and professional excellence by delivering direct patient care including evaluations, treatment planning and family/home education as well as maintaining appropriate records.
• Demonstrates appropriate skills required to treat neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
• Properly supervises and effectively instructs supportive staff as needed.
• Assists in the proper orientation and supervision of new employees including PTs, PTAs and P.T. Aides.
• Assists in the proper development and implementation of department Q.A. studies.
• Assists the senior physical therapist in discharge planning activities and in-house inservice as needed.
• Participates on hospital committees serving general employee benefit.
• Provides therapy services as required to other agencies who have contracts with WCH.

Education, Training And Experience

Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science in Physical Therapy and Licensed in Ohio.
