Rochester Regional Health’s Newark-Wayne Community Hospital in Newark, NY is seeking a Physical Therapist per diem to welcome patients and guide rehabilitation, with a focus on pulmonary health and compassionate care.
You will perform patient evaluation, develop treatment plans including mobility training, assistive devices, and therapeutic modalities, and mentor team members to ensure department standards.
As a Physical Therapist, you welcome patients and put them at ease. You provide PT to patients with care and compassion to ensure rehabilitation success. Each of the hospitals of Rochester Regional Health provides a full range of diagnostic, treatment, and educational services to persons with disorders of the cardiopulmonary system. Special emphasis is placed on pulmonary health promotion and disease prevention.

DEPARTMENT: Physical Therapy
SCHEDULE: Day shift, weekdays & weekends 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (flexible start times), weekend rotation required (enhanced weekend per diem rate)
Doctorate or Master's Degree in Physical Therapy, or Bachelor's degree with prior experience as a licensed Physical Therapist required.
Prior Physical Therapist experience preferred.
Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20-50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.
