Job summary

UF Health Rehabilitation Hospital - Gainesville, affiliated with Select Medical, is seeking a Physical Therapist to provide per diem coverage. Compensation is $52.00 per hour with a $7,500 sign-on bonus and growth opportunities within the system.

The role focuses on inpatient rehabilitation for brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological and orthopedic conditions. You will assess, plan, educate, and supervise PTAs and students while contributing to discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Active state PT licensure required.
• BLS certification either current or to be obtained within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments.
• Promote continuous quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
• Teach and counsel patients and families about treatment plans.
• Set goals and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Supervise PTAs and PT/ PTA students.
• Participate in discharge planning and patient/family education.
• Document treatment sessions according to policies and procedures.
• Contribute to departmental and hospital continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Performing initial and ongoing systematic patient assessment.
• Promoting continuous quality improvement.
• Teaching and counseling patients/families.
• Setting goals and developing treatment plans.
• Working cooperatively to identify and solve patient-specific and facility-wide needs.
• Participating in discharge planning for each patient, including placement, patient/family education and adaptive equipment.
• Supervising Physical Therapy Assistants, as well as supervising PT and PTA students.
• Conducting individual patient therapy regimens.
• Monitoring patient's response to treatment and modifying treatment during sessions, as needed.
• Completing appropriate documentation according to department policies and procedures.
• Participating in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• State Licensure: Hold a current state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT)
• Certified BLS: Possess Certified BLS or obtain it within 90 days of employment.
