This Physical Therapist per diem position is located at the Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital Forest Hill site in Harford County. The role provides therapy services to children from birth to 21 years of age to restore function and prevent disability after illness or injury.
Responsibilities include evaluation, planning, intervention, and family education, with supervision by Senior Therapists and department leadership. Weekday outpatient coverage is required; CPR within one month is required.
Provides therapy services to children from birth to 21 years of age and other patients as assigned, to restore function and to prevent disability following disease or injury.
Graduate of an approved professional school for Physical Therapy.
Licensed to practice or eligible for licensure by the State of Maryland
Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation certification within one month of employment
One clinical affiliation in pediatrics and/or experience with children desired.
Pediatric affiliation preferred.
Reports to the Senior Therapist(s) of own discipline, Manager/Director of department.
Supervision Exercised
May supervise students on clinical affiliations.
Directly interfaces daily with patients, visitors, other health care team members, and other health care staff.
Operates adaptive equipment, physical agents, specialty beds, and equipment as outlined in Rehab Department Manual.
Occasional stress during emergency situations or multiple demands and/or telephone calls. Regular or continuous risk of exposure to body fluids, infectious waste or blood borne diseases requiring the use of personal protective equipment and adherence to established protocol.
