Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Physical Therapist to assess, plan, evaluate, and implement care for patients within the department. This role requires adherence to the Physical Therapy Practice Act and applicable standards for therapy care, supplies, equipment, and interventions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or equivalent.
  • Doctorate preferred.
  • Current Louisiana PT license required.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required.

Responsibilities

  • Gathers pertinent data from the chart and other caregivers; discusses with the physician as necessary.
  • Independently assesses all patient types as assigned.
  • Recognizes additional needs during evaluation and exercises judgment in scheduling/performing testing.
  • Interprets results and formulates goals that are relevant, measurable, and attainable.
  • Reassesses patient progress regularly per department and regulatory policy.
  • Identifies equipment needs and discusses with patient and family.

Summary

The Physical Therapist has the responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, evaluating, and implementing care for the patients assigned to physical therapy. The Physical Therapist is responsible for adhering to all standards of Physical Therapy Practice Act as they apply to providing technical therapy care, supplies, equipment, and interventions to a designated patient population.
