Burger Rehabilitation Systems, Inc. is seeking a State Board Licensed Physical Therapist to join our Rocklin PT Clinic on a part-time schedule. This role welcomes both new graduates and seasoned clinicians.

The position serves the community across the Sacramento region with potential hours at nearby clinics upon request, with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from an accredited college or university.
• California State licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in good standing in California.

Responsibilities

• Assist evaluation of patients to determine physical therapy needs using diagnostic and prognostic tests.
• Treat patients to relieve pain and restore function under physician orders.
• Instruct patients in exercises, gait training, ADLs, and use of assistive devices.
• Provide modalities such as heat, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and hydrotherapy as prescribed.
• Observe and document patient progress and response to treatment.

This opportunity is open to newer graduates or a seasoned clinician.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assist the physician in the evaluation of the patient to determine the physical therapy necessary by applying diagnostic and prognostic muscle, nerve, joint and functional ability tests.
• Under the physician’s order, treat patients to relieve pain, develop or restore function and maintain optimal performance using physical means such as heat, water, electricity, light, massage, etc.
• Aid and direct patients in active and passive exercises, muscle re-education, gait and functional training, activities of daily living, and prosthetic training.
• Give whirlpool and contrast baths, applies moist heat, intermittent traction, ultra-sound, short wave diathermy, etc.
• Observes, records, and reports patient’s reaction to treatment and any changes in the patient’s condition.
• Instructs patients in the care and use of wheelchairs, walkers, braces, canes, crutches and prosthetic and orthotic devices.
• Collaborates with other health professionals to coordinate clinical intervention.
• Instructs the family in the patient’s total physical therapy program.
• Serves as a member of the patient care team.
• Records a progress note which is incorporated in the patient’s medical record for each visit.
• Based on physician’s orders, develops, implements, and revises the plan of treatment as necessary.
• Participates in education programs to improve therapy skills.
• Supervises student interns, PTLAs, physical therapy assistants, physical therapy aides and volunteers in compliance with State laws and regulations and Burger policies and procedures as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from an accredited college or university or the foreign equivalent
• California State licensed Physical Therapist
