Cayuga Health is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to work onsite at the Cayuga Wellness Center in Ithaca, NY. You will develop and implement individualized treatment plans, perform manual therapy, and supervise patients through therapeutic exercises and modalities.

Onsite role with daytime hours; travel not required. A valid NYS PT license, CPR, and annual safety trainings are expected, with pelvic health certification preferred for advanced practice.

Qualifikationen

• Completion of accredited physical therapy program (Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate).
• Current NYS Physical Therapy license.
• CPR certification required.
• Annual safety in-services / Healthstream e-Learning courses.
• Pelvic health certification preferred.

• Identify patient goals and needs; assess evaluations and test results; plan treatment with physicians or by prescription.
• Administer manual therapy and guide patients through therapeutic exercises and activities; assistive devices as needed.
• Utilize physical therapy modalities (traction, ultrasound, electrical stimulation) for pain control and functional gains.
• Evaluate progress, adjust plans, and discharge planning; design home exercise programs and educate patients and caregivers.

Provides quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results; determining physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription.Administers manual therapy (joint and soft tissue mobilizations, deep tissue massage); instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as therapeutic exercises, ambulatory functional activities, daily-living activities, and in using assistive and supportive devices, such as crutches, walkers, and orthotics to help patients accomplish their treatment goals.Administers physical therapy modalities such as mechanical traction, hot/cold packs, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation for pain control, neuromuscular re-education, and functional improvements;Evaluates effects of physical therapy treatments and fit of orthotic devices by observing, noting, and evaluating patient's progress; recommending adjustments and modifications.Completes discharge planning by consulting with the patient, family and care givers, and physicians.Assures continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs; instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs; recommending and/or providing assistive equipment; recommending outpatient programs.Documents patient care services and charges by charting in patient's electronic medical record.Required Skills and Experience:Education : successful completion of accredited physical therapy program; may be Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate level programMust complete yearly mandatory safety in-services and/or trainings as well as yearly Healthstream e-Learning CoursesLicensure : Current NYS Physical Therapy licenseCurrent CPR CertificationExperience : Prior experience preferred.
