Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Florida's Krupa Center in Weston seeks a Physical Therapist for outpatient care. You will guide patients through exercises to improve strength, range of motion, endurance and coordination, while building trusting relationships with patients and their families in a supportive team environment.

This PRN role requires day/evening rotation with weekend requirements, coverage across Weston outpatient clinics at Krupa and YMCA (potential Parkland).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or certificate in physical therapy.
• Graduate of an APTA-accredited PT program or related international degree.
• Current state PT license.
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross.
• Internship experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.
• Supervise patient treatments per physician referral ensuring safety and wellbeing.
• Review patient responses to treatment and adjust plans as needed.
• Provide documentation of each visit per departmental policy.
• Maintain and care for equipment and supplies.
• Ensure economical use of resources and assist in training ancillary staff.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy

Graduate of a Physical Therapy Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association

As a Physical Therapist, you will utilize various exercises to help patients increase strength, range of motion, endurance and coordination. Because this position requires close interaction, you have the opportunity to build strong relationships with both patients and their families. Often, your patients are dealing with pain, so sensitivity is important. Ultimately, your unconditional support and reassurance can drive them to work hard and regain their health.

This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working a day/evening rotation between 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. or 10:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. with weekend requirements.

The role requires flexibility in hours and locations, providing coverage for Weston outpatient PT clinics at Krupa and the YMCA, with potential coverage at Parkland.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.
• Interpret plans and supervise patient treatments in accordance with the physician referral, ensuring the care, safety and wellbeing of the patient.
• Review and evaluate the patient’s response or lack thereof to treatment.
• Make recommendations to the physician relative to the need to continue or discontinue physical therapy treatment.
• Provide appropriate documentation of each patient’s visit in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
• Be responsible for the maintenance and care of all equipment and apparatus.
• Be responsible for the economical use of supplies, linens and utilities.
• Provide appropriate billing for each patient visit in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist in on-the-job training of all ancillary personnel.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor’s Degree or certificate
• Graduate of a Physical Therapy Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association or a related international degree
• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
• Internship experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Experience in an acute-care setting
• Outpatient experience

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
