Overview
A premier outpatient health organization in New York's Finger Lakes region is seeking an Outpatient Physical Therapist to join its established rehabilitation team. This role offers the chance to deliver hands‑on, patient-centered care to a broad mix of patients while contributing to a supportive, collaborative clinical environment.
What you’ll do
- Conduct initial evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs
- Administer therapeutic treatments including exercises, manual therapy, and modalities such as ultrasound, heat/ice therapy, and electrical stimulation
- Educate patients on exercise programs, posture correction, and injury prevention
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans to meet rehabilitation goals
- Document treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with departmental policies and industry standards
- Provide patient education to empower individuals in managing their rehabilitation and preventing future injuries
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment, adhering to infection control and safety guidelines
Required qualifications
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree from an accredited program
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain a valid Physical Therapist license in the state at time of hire
- BLS certification required within 90 days of hire
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with patients, families, and team members
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to deliver high-quality, compassionate care for patients with orthopedic, neurological, and musculoskeletal conditions
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds independently and up to 150 pounds with assistance
- Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and moving patients during treatment sessions
- Physical Therapists on an F1 student visa with OPT work authorization are encouraged to apply and will be considered
