Job summary

Billings Clinic invites applications for a Physical Therapist - Orthopedics in Billings, MT. The role focuses on direct patient care, evaluations and treatments to help patients reach maximum physical performance.

You will participate in multidisciplinary conferences, discharge planning, and education while using EMR for documentation and billing. This position requires a Montana PT license and a commitment to safety and quality in a Magnet-designated hospital.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current Montana Physical Therapy license; license or eligibility required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients’ physical and functional status and develops an individualized treatment plan.
• Demonstrates and applies treatment techniques and modalities appropriate to the age and disability.
• Documents timely initial evaluations, progress and discharge planning notes in EMR per policy and reimbursement requirements.
• Participates in discharge planning and care conferences to ensure appropriate home or alternate care post-rehabilitation.
• Maintains competency with organizational standards related to patient safety and job performance.

Shift: DayEmployment Status: Full-Time (.75 or greater) Hours per Pay Period: 1.00 = 80 hours every two weeks (Non-Exempt) Starting Wage DOE:Physical Therapist I

The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing direct patient care, evaluations, consultations, and treatments in order to assist patients in reaching maximum physical performance. Skills in multidisciplinary team care conferences, discharge planning, evaluating and treating patients, medically complex patients, participation in ergonomics training and interdepartmental education and departmental work teams, oversight of physical therapy assistants, techs and PT students. Use of multiple aspects of EMR for documentation, billing and communication.

Essential Job Functions

• Evaluates patients' physical and functional status with regard to developmental and chronological age by administering and Interpreting tests. Develops individual treatment plan to include objective measures, assessment, short and long term goals, frequency and duration of therapy. Observes and interviews patients, reviews medical charts and consults with physicians or nursing personnel as appropriate. Maintains compliance within departmental QA.
• Demonstrates creativity, skill and efficiency in implementing treatment plans that include the use of recognized treatment techniques and modalities appropriate to the age and disability being treated and goals to be achieved.
• Demonstrates competency with equipment.
• Documents timely and regular initial evaluations, progress and discharge planning notes consistent with department policy, regulatory agency and reimbursement requirements.
• Completes daily patient charges and work schedule.
• Participates in discharge planning and/or care conferences with physicians, nursing and social services personnel to ensure patients have appropriate assistance and continuation of rehabilitation at home or in other care settings.
• Supports and models behaviors consistent with Billings Clinic's mission, vision, values, code of business conduct and service expectations.
• Meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements.
• Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency standards as it relates to the environment, employee, patient safety or job performance.
• Performs all other duties as assigned or as needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education• Minimum 4 Year / Bachelors Degree Physical Therapy degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program Preferred Graduate Degree Physical Therapy degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program
• Certifications and Licenses• Current Montana Physical Therapy license. with Board of Physical Therapy Examiners at hireOr an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered. Employees that require a licensed or certification must be properly licensed/certified and the licensure/certification must be in good standing.
