Job summary

Illinois Bone & Joint Institute (IBJI) seeks a Full Time Physical Therapist to join the OrthoHealth program, a multidisciplinary team focusing on obesity and metabolic health. You will collaborate with dietitians, health coaches and physicians to develop personalized care plans for adults and children.

You will perform initial evaluations, create treatment goals, document progress, and participate in nutrition and lifestyle coaching as part of a comprehensive care approach.

Qualifications

  • Available to work 2 evening shifts per week and some Saturdays.
  • Able to multitask in a fast paced clinic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate with physicians, therapists and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional patient care to adults and children.
  • Develop group exercise programs for OrthoHealth participants.
  • Interpret physician orders and establish treatment goals and plans.
  • Document patient status and progress per compliance guidelines.
  • Maintain ongoing licensure and pursue CEUs through IBJI opportunities.

Are you a physical therapist looking to be a part of our growing OrthoHealth program, a comprehensive wellness and weight loss program focusing on a healthy Metabolic system??

Illinois Bone & Joint is looking for a Full Time Physical Therapist who would be a part of this multidisciplinary team providing collaborative care addressing adult and pediatric obesity. In this role, you will work alongside dieticians, health coaches and physicians to provide a comprehensive care plan to optimize a patient’s metabolic health.

Founded in 1991, IBJI is the largest orthopedic group practice in Illinois. With more than 150 physicians in every orthopedic specialty, IBJI offers care for adults and children from some of the most accomplished and respected orthopedists in the country. Serving northern Illinois and northwest Indiana with over 100 locations, IBJI makes it easy to access care. Our headquarters is in Park Ridge, Illinois, a northwest suburb of Chicago.

Our clinical services include advanced MRI imaging, pain management, non-surgical and surgical treatment plans, rheumatology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, wellness, and sports and sports training. Ortho Access walk-in clinics provide same day care for orthopedic injuries. Comprehensive care offered all in one place enables physicians, therapists and staff to work closely together, so that patients and families achieve better outcomes. Collaborative care is also more efficient. In many cases, IBJI services are substantially less expensive than those provided by large healthcare systems and emergency rooms.

Essential Job Functions
  • Exceptional patient care
  • Demonstrate empathy and understanding of patients ability and function that will support a behavioral change in patients resistance to movement and exercise
  • Familiarity with the NEAT philosophy for exercise training
  • Develop group exercise programs for participants in the OrthoHealth Program
  • Have an interest in evidence based education and exercise plans that can be tailored to fit patients individualized needs
  • Interest in Nutrition, sleep and health coaching as they impact metabolic health
  • Interprets physician orders, performs initial evaluations and establishes treatment plans and functional goals
  • Responsible for upgrading and amending the treatment goals as necessary during the episode of care
  • Written documentation on patient status to physicians per compliance guidelines
  • Determine appropriate discharge timeline and appropriate follow up
  • Compliance with daily paperwork. PTs are responsible for documenting all treatment in patient charts in a timely manner (initial evals, daily notes, progress notes, discharges, HEP)
  • Stays current with billing policies and demonstrates ethical billing practices
  • Maintains active state license by earning appropriate CEUs through outside courses and IBJI sponsored educational opportunities
  • Develops positive relationships with the physician teams at IBJI
Requirements

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills and relevant experience.
