Job summary

Naples Comprehensive Healthcare (NCH) and Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) are collaborating to develop a state-of-the-art musculoskeletal center, facilitating orthopedic care across the surgical and non-surgical care spectrum. As a member of our acute care physical therapy team, you will evaluate patient condition, determine the appropriate treatment plan and set rehabilitation goals.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy is required.
• At least 3 years’ experience in acute care and post-operative settings preferred.
• Clinical expertise in orthopedics and sports medicine rehab.
• Current Florida Physical Therapy licensure is required.
• OCS certification from ABPTS is required.
• BLS certification from ARC or AHA is required.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient condition upon referral and determine the appropriate treatment plan.
• Set rehabilitation goals and educate patients/families on current rehab approaches.
• Provide care for adults in acute inpatient orthopedic and Ambulatory Surgery settings, including telehealth.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and report to the Inpatient Rehabilitation Manager.
• Demonstrate adaptability and maintain professional conduct in a collaborative launch phase.

Job Summary

Naples Comprehensive Healthcare (NCH) and Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) are collaborating to develop a state-of-the-art musculoskeletal (MSK) center, facilitating orthopedic care through the surgical and non-surgical care spectrum. As a member of our acute care physical therapy team, you will provide care for a diverse range of patients. Upon referral by a physician, you will evaluate patient condition, determine the appropriate treatment plan and set rehabilitation goals. Educating patients and family members on the most up-to-date approaches to the rehabilitation process will be an important part of this role.

This role requires a strong background in acute care and ambulatory surgery (AMS) orthopedic care, as well as an understanding of how to integrate the acute services within a multi-disciplinary clinic. Candidates need to be experienced in adult inpatient orthopedic physical therapy with knowledge of adult orthopedic surgeries and post-operative guidelines. This role will also include treatment of Ambulatory Surgery patients and involvement in both pre- and post-operative evaluations and treatments, inclusive of telehealth. Outstanding communication skills and the ability to work well in a team are also vital. The Acute Care Staff Physical Therapist will report directly to the HSS at NCH Inpatient Rehabilitation Manager for the MSK Center.

Education, Experience And Qualifications

• Minimum of Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy.
• 3 years’ experience in acute care and post-operative patient setting preferred.
• Clinical experience and expertise in the realm of orthopedics and sports medicine rehabilitation.
• Current FL Physical Therapy licensure
• Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
