Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Physical Therapist to evaluate and treat patients recovering from injury, disease, surgery, or other ailments. You will establish treatment plans and use exercises, stretching, hands-on therapy, and equipment to ease pain and aid recovery.

You will work cooperatively with physicians, case managers, and insurance adjusters, and you will document patient progress. Supervision of PT assistants may be required, with a standard 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree or equivalent in Physical Therapy.
• Active Physical Therapist licensure; SC license prior to start date.
• Current Basic Life Support certification (BLS) required.
• Minimum experience: 1 year, or 4–6 years of equivalent work experience.

Minimum Training and Education:Education: Doctorate degree or equivalent in Physical Therapy With Minimum of 1 year experience, OR Equivalent Work Experience: 4-6 years.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Active Physical Therapist Licensure. Candidates must obtain their South Carolina license prior to their start date, as they cannot begin work without it. The licensure process typically takes less than one month. Once an offer is accepted, candidates are expected to initiate and complete the licensing process before their scheduled start date.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
