The PT will perform comprehensive evaluations and develop treatment plans in an inpatient/outpatient setting to restore function and independence. Candidates must have a physical therapy degree, a current unrestricted license, and pass the National Physical Therapy Examination.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in physical therapy (CAAHEP-accredited).
  • Current, active and unrestricted Physical Therapist license.
  • Passed the National Physical Therapy Examination (FSBPT).
  • One year of specialized experience evaluating and treating PT patients.
  • Experience in hospital or clinical PT settings.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive Physical Therapy evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Plan and coordinate management of complex neuromuscular and musculoskeletal cases.
  • Evaluate for acute/chronic conditions in inpatient/outpatient care.
  • Design treatment plans for complex conditions.
  • Develop protocols and SOPs for Physical Therapy programs.
  • Serve as the primary Physical Therapist in support of program objectives.
  • Provide evaluation and intervention for wounded, ill, and injured patients.

Overview

This position is in the Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Gordon, Georgia.

It is located in the Dept of Surgery Physical MED and REHAB Clinic service at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center (DDEAMC) at Fort Gordon, Georgia. Serves as the primary Physical Therapist (PT) in an inpatient, outpatient clinic which maximizes restoration of physical and adaptive roles and functions in support of the overall program objectives.

Salary Range: $89,508 - $116,362 per year

  • Perform comprehensive Physical Therapy evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment using advanced therapeutic principles for patients.
  • Plan and coordinate management and treatment of complex neuromuscular and musculoskeletal cases as fully privileged Physical Therapist.
  • Evaluate for acute chronic neuromusculoskeletal and musculoskeletal conditions in inpatient/outpatient care.
  • Design treatment plan for patients with complex, chronic, or acute conditions.
  • Participate in the development of protocols and standard operating procedures for Physical Therapy programs.
  • Serve as the primary Physical Therapist (PT) in support of the overall program objectives.
  • Provide evaluation and intervention of wounded, ill, and injured patients with physical rehabilitation, musculoskeletal extremity, spine injuries, neurological impairments, pain, and concomitant mental health disorders.

Additional information about transcripts is in this document.Basic Requirement for Physical Therapist: Degree: A graduate (or higher level) degree that included a physical therapy curriculum approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a professional accrediting organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained, and completion of the clinical requirements prescribed by the school.AND Licensure: Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physical Therapist from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States; and must have passed the National Physical Therapy Examination administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT).Exemption: You are exempt from the basic requirements above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0633 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017 or before. Note: You will be required to provide appropriate documentation to the respective Human Resources Office to validate your status.In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes evaluating physical therapy patients; developing physical therapy treatments in a hospital or clinical setting; and instructing physical therapy patients on treatment programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
