Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist to provide objective assessments and develop personalized treatment plans for adult and geriatric patients. You will supervise patients and rehab technicians, including PT assistants, in line with State Practice Acts and Mercy standards.

Candidates should hold a current state physical therapy license and a PT degree (DPT/MSPT/BSc). BLS certification is required; 6–12 months of rehab PT experience and elder care familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current State license of Physical Therapy.
• BLS certification required.
• Six months to one year experience preferred in Rehabilitation PT.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and develop comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients.
• Direct supervision of patients and supervision of rehabilitation staff in accordance with State Practice Acts.
• Ensure care delivery aligns with Mercy mission, values, and Service Standards.

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details:

Education: Current State license of Physical Therapy. Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
Experience:
Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.

Preferred Experience: Six months to one year experience is preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist. Prefer experience with care for adult and geriatric patients.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
