Job summary

Webster Central School District in Webster, NY, is seeking a Physical Therapist to join our district-wide Special Services team. The posting notes a start date of August 31, 2026, with closing August 26, 2026.

The PT will assess, plan, and deliver therapy services under physician referral, focusing on functional improvements for students in a school setting. Candidates must hold a NYS Physical Therapist license, be on the Monroe County Civil Service eligibility list or hold the title, or qualify

Qualifications

• Must hold a NYS license as a Physical Therapist.
• Must be on current Monroe County Civil Service Physical Therapist Eligibility List OR
• Currently hold the Monroe County Civil Service Title of Physical Therapist OR
• Have work experience that would qualify for the Physical Therapist title OR
• In the event that there is a "no-list", applicants can be hired provisionally if they complete the following conditions:
• Meet the Civil Service qualifications for the position
• Take the Civil Service exam, when offered
• Are reachable on the Civil Service list

Responsibilities

• Perform physical therapy procedures upon the written prescription or referral from a physician, utilizing an exercise or creative activity treatment program designed and/or adapted to correct or improve functional ability.
• Evaluates the degree of function and disability of students unless contraindicated by the supervising therapist's professional judgment or a physician's prescription.
• Develops a treatment plan based upon findings, short and long-term goals and in accordance with a physician's diagnosis, prescription or referral.
• Maintains program records including, but not limited to, the service budget, statistical reports of the frequency and types of treatment and number of students treated.
• Participates in research activities and the development of new treatment programs and techniques in conjunction with other staff and physicians.
• Participates and assists in the development of educational programs and instructs in-service education programs.
