Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Davison, MI is seeking a Physical Therapist for a day shift in the Physical Therapy - Davison department. The role performs physical therapy treatments, evaluates patients, documents progress, plans treatment, and completes discharge functions. You will work a full-time schedule with daily hours 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Mon-Thu and 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Friday, with 80 hours biweekly. Michigan licensure required; 5–7 years of education including entry-level degrees;

Qualifications

• Must possess 5-7 years formal education and Bachelor/Master Degree/Doctorate in accredited Physical Therapy program.
• Licensure in State of Michigan required.
• Trained and educated in age-specific categories being served: infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
• Capable of spending 10-25% of time lifting, carrying, moving items weighing 25 pounds or more.
• Ability to effectively communicate and present self to people in courteous, tactful and poised manner.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical therapy treatments for patients referred to department; conduct patient evaluation, document patient progress, plan treatment and complete discharge functions.
• Obtain patient history, perform systems reviews, and select and administer tests and measures to obtain data.
• Make clinical judgments based on data gathered during exam and adjust treatment accordingly.
• Implement effective treatment addressing identified impairments and use appropriate techniques.
• Re-assess progress and manage discharge planning from first visit through completion of treatment.
• Maintain legible, accurate and timely documentation in line with departmental policies.

Position Summary:

Performs physical therapy treatments for patients referred to department.Conducts patient evaluation, performs documentation of patient progress, treatment planning and completes discharge functions

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Employee will demonstrate the process of obtaining history, performing relevant systems reviews, and selecting and administering specific tests and measures to obtain data.
• Employee will demonstrate the dynamic process in which the therapist makes clinical judgments based on data gathered during the exam.
• Employee will perform effective treatment addressing the specific impairments identified in the evaluation.
• Employee will appropriate techniques that are specific to impairments.
• The employee will demonstrate ongoing re-assessment and identification of progress of the patient.
• Employee will initiate and manage the discharge plan beginning at the first visit and continue throughout the patient’s treatment.
• Employee demonstrates legible, accurate and clear documentation within the established time frame according to departmental policies and procedures.
• Employee demonstrates written and/or dictated documentation in a format that is concise and complete according to departmental policies and procedures.

Required:
