Job summary

WCS Healthcare is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist to join a multidisciplinary clinic in Bronx, NY. The position offers a weekday schedule from 8:30am to 4:30pm and involves evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, and coordinating care.

You will supervise PTAs and therapists with limited permits, review referrals, administer modalities, and support patients and caregivers. NYS license and a PT degree are required, with strong evaluation skills and proficiency in mobility devices

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program with a Bachelor's degree or higher.
• Current NYS Physical Therapy License.
• Strong knowledge of physical therapy evaluation and treatment techniques.
• Ability to supervise PTAs and aides effectively.
• Proficient in physical agent modalities and therapeutic exercises.

Responsibilities

• Review doctor referrals and medical records to determine the need for physical therapy treatment.
• Refer individuals to specialty clinics as needed (e.g., adaptive equipment, orthotics, splints, footwear).
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessments.
• Administer therapeutic modalities including hydrotherapy, hot/cold packs, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation.
• Instruct, motivate, and assist individuals in exercise programs using weights, machines, mats, assistive devices, orthoses, and prostheses.
• Provide training to individuals, caregivers, and staff as needed.
• Participate in care plan and interdisciplinary team meetings as appropriate.
• Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) and therapists with limited permits across healthcare centers, day programs, and residential settings.

WCS Healthcare is partnering with a large organization nonprofit organization New York City. We are currently seeking a full‑time Physical Therapist (PT) to join a team of interdisciplinary professionals at a clinic located in Bronx, NY.

Schedule: Mon‑Fri 8:30am-4:30pm

Job Duties:

• Review doctor referrals and medical records to determine the need for physical therapy treatment.
• Refer individuals to specialty clinics as needed (e.g., adaptive equipment, orthotics, splints, footwear).
• Maintain active and up‑to‑date medical prescriptions in accordance with NYS Department of Health (DOH) and Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) regulations, based on assignment.
• Evaluate and assess individuals in the following areas:
  • Sensorimotor function
  • Gross and fine motor skills
  • Musculoskeletal and central nervous system status
  • Ambulation and mobility
  • Adaptive equipment needs (e.g., walkers, canes, AFOs)
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessments.
• Administer therapeutic modalities including hydrotherapy, hot/cold packs, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation.
• Instruct, motivate, and assist individuals in exercise programs using weights, machines, mats, assistive devices, orthoses, and prostheses.
• Provide training to individuals, caregivers, and staff as needed.

Additional Information:

Providers will begin with a half-day EMR training on PrecisionCare. This is followed by 2–3 days of in‑clinic orientation. Training sessions typically run for 30 minutes starting at 8:30 AM, with flexibility to make up missed sessions within the same week. Clinical notes must be entered within 72 hours. Average caseload is 10–12 sessions per day, with an anticipated 20% no‑show rate.
