Job summary

Browns Health and Rehabilitation Center in Statesboro, GA is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our compassionate team. You will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to carry out treatment plans and help residents regain independence, improve mobility, and enhance daily functioning.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited PTA program, holds an active PTA license, and is prepared to work in a skilled nursing setting.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
Current and valid licensure/certification as a PTA.
CPR certification required (or must obtain upon hire).
Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred.
Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Carry out treatment plans designed by the Physical Therapist, including therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and functional mobility tasks.
Assist residents in improving strength, range of motion, and overall physical endurance.
Monitor and document residents' treatments, progress, and responses in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
Communicate effectively with the supervising PT regarding residents' status, changes, and potential adjustments to care plans.
Provide education to residents, families, and caregivers on exercise programs, mobility techniques, and safety measures.
Adhere to facility policies, professional practice standards, and regulatory requirements, including documentation and infection control.
