Job summary

Courtland Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Courtland, VA is hiring a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) PRN to provide comprehensive patient care under a PT’s supervision. You will document progress, assist with referrals, and ensure proper orders and billing are maintained.

The role supports an interdisciplinary team, attends meetings as needed, and upholds safety, confidentiality, and productivity standards while delivering quality rehab services to residents.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associates degree in Physical Therapy recognized by the APTA.
• Holds current license and/or registration in the state

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under supervision of a PT per state guidelines.
• Assist PT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
• Document patient's daily participation and progress with progress notes and PT co-signature.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, recertifications and discharges.
• Assist with documentation requirements per state guidelines.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings as directed by Supervisor.
• Act as rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in scheduling of patients as indicated.
• Complete billing and bill patients ethically and accurately for PT services rendered.
• Cover other therapists' caseload during absence as necessary.
• Supervise junior PTA staff or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with coworkers, patients, families.
• Provide in-service education regarding patient care or PT services as needed.
• Comply with facility safety policies and patient confidentiality.
• Report to work on time and adhere to scheduled hours.
• Adhere to productivity requirements.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere and professional conduct.
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor or regional manager.
• Comply with facility policies re: lunch, overtime, sick time, and time off notifications.

Education

BA or Associate's degree in Physical Therapy

Current license/registration in the state

16. 16.Report to work on time, adhere to scheduled hours and project a professional image at all times.
17. 17.Adhere to productivity requirements.
18. 18.Maintain a positive work atmosphere by demonstrating and communicating in a professional manner so as to foster positive relations with customers, clients, co-workers and managers.
19. 19.Perform all other duties assigned by the department Supervisor, Lead Therapist or Regional Manager.
20. 20.Comply with all Facility policies re: lunch, overtime, sick and time off notification.
21. 21.Adhere to any and all other Facility written and oral policies and procedures.
