Job summary

AccentCare in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our clinical team. Under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, you will provide patient care, educate families, and help implement and adjust treatment plans.

This is a full-time, in-office role with coverage across Fort Worth and surrounding areas. The PTA must hold an associate degree, be licensed in Texas, maintain CPR certification, and be able to travel to all locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited PTA program.
• Must hold valid license/permit to practice in Texas.
• CPR certification required and must maintain current CPR.
• Must be a licensed driver able to travel to all locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and document treatment per physician orders and patient needs.
• Document interventions, approaches, and treatment priorities.
• Educate and counsel patients and families during treatment.
• Present patient information to supervising Physical Therapist and update the team on status.
• Deliver skilled PTA treatment within agency policies and payer parameters.
• Collaborate with team to plan and adjust treatment.
• Complete daily notes and forms timely to avoid interruptions.
• Meet agency productivity standards and manage work hours efficiently.
• Attend agency meetings and committees as assigned.
• Negotiate patient participation in treatment times and plans.

Salary: $81,600 to $99,700 annually based on experience

Bonus: $10,000

This position is paid on a per-point basis. The compensation reflected on this posting is an estimate of annual compensation.

What You Need To Know

The Physical Therapy Assistant, under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, is responsible for providing treatment to patients, functioning as a member of the interdisciplinary team, provides patient and family education and counseling regarding concerns, planning, implementing and modifying treatment procedures, maintaining appropriate documentation according to policies and procedures and current standards of practice. The Physical Therapist Assistant manages a caseload in conjunction with supervising therapist and in accordance with agency productivity standards, attends and participates in patient and other conferences and agency in-services as assigned.

• Associates degree from an accredited school of Physical Therapy
• Have a valid license, registration, or permit to practice in state of agency operation
• Must possess and maintain valid CPR certification while employed in a clinical role
• Must be a licensed driver who can travel to all business locations
• Be able to implement care plans and communicate any findings or changes in regards to patients back to the Physical Therapist and physician
• Ability to educate patients and their families in basic home safety and medical equipment safety

Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will:

• Provides patient care and documents treatment in accordance with physicians orders, agency policy and patient needs.
• Documents appropriate interventions, approaches, strategies, materials and establishing treatment priorities.
• Provides organized and efficient patient treatment which includes advising, educating and counseling the patient.
• Presents pertinent patient information to supervising therapist and keeps team informed of patient status.
• Provides appropriate skilled treatment to patients according to patient needs and within the parameters set by the agency and payer.
• Seeks and accepts assistance from team members in treatment planning and intervention.
• Accurately documents, completes and submits daily notes, assists with other required forms in a timely manner to prevent interruptions in patient care.
• Meets agency productivity standards and uses work hours efficiently.
• Attends and participates in agency meetings and committees as assigned.
• Appropriately negotiates the patient' s participation in treatment, treatment times and treatment plans.
