Independence Rehab Inc in Scottsbluff, NE is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support geriatric residents with mobility, balance, and independence. You will work closely with a PT and the care team to deliver meaningful therapy in a compassionate, relationship-driven setting.

This full-time role offers mentorship for new grads and a sustainable caseload in a therapist-owned practice focused on empowering patients and families through high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Active Nebraska PTA license in good standing.
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.

Responsibilities

• Treat a medically complex geriatric population with time, clinical reasoning and compassion.
• Guide residents through mobility milestones and safe transfers.
• Lead gait, balance, strengthening, and functional training sessions.
• Help reduce fall risk and build confidence in daily activities.

What a Day Looks Like

As a PTA at The Residency and all of our geriatric clinics, your day is relationship-driven, collaborative, and clinically meaningful:

• You’ll treat a medically complex geriatric population in a setting where time, clinical reasoning, and compassion are valued. You will be challenged every day!
• Guiding residents through mobility milestones - first steps, safe transfers, returning home
• Leading gait, balance, strengthening, and functional training sessions
• Helping reduce fall risk and build confidence with daily activities
• Collaborating closely with your PT to adjust care plans
• Working alongside nursing, OT, and speech to support whole-person recovery
• Celebrating small wins that matter deeply to patients and families

Requirements
