Job summary

Onyx Health Consulting is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. You will document treatments, changes in condition and other pertinent information while delivering age-appropriate therapeutic techniques and home exercise programs.

Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, assessing patient condition, proposing goals, and educating patients on modalities and home exercises in a health care setting.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Valid PTA license in state of practice.
• Current CPR and first aid certification.
• 3+ years' clinical experience.

OVERVIEW:

Physical Therapy Assistant to provide direct patient care services under the direction and supervision of a Physical Therapist. The Physical Therapy Assistant will be responsible for documenting patient treatments, changes in condition and other pertinent information as required. The successful candidate will also provide treatment and appropriate therapeutic techniques specific to the age and condition of each patient.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Administer treatment programs as established by Physical Therapists

• Assess patient condition using knowledge of basic biological and medical science

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• This job operates in a health care setting. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the care center.
• Incumbent may be exposed to virus, disease and infection from patients and specimens in working environment.
• Incumbent may be required to work extended periods of time at a video display terminal.
• Incumbent may experience traumatic situations, including psychiatric, and deceased patients.
