Job summary

Floridaortho is seeking dedicated Physical Therapist Assistants (PTA) to join their team across various clinics in the Tampa Bay Area. As a PTA, you will provide essential support in outpatient therapy and sports medicine, working directly under licensed Physical Therapists to aid patient recovery from injuries and surgeries.

The role includes individualized treatment plans, patient instruction, and documenting progress. Competitive pay ranges from $25.00/hr to $35.00/hr based on experience, alongside benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and generous paid time off.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Current CPR certification.

What You’ll Do

As a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), you’ll play a key role in outpatient therapy, sports medicine, and physical rehabilitation. Working under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, you’ll help patients recover from orthopaedic injuries, post-surgical procedures, and musculoskeletal conditions.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Providing individualized patient treatments as outlined in the Physical Therapist’s plan of care.
• Documenting each visit with treatment notes, progress updates, and patient assessments.
• Instructing patients in exercise programs, proper body mechanics, and safe use of assistive devices.
• Guiding patients through gait training and mobility exercises.
• Communicating patient status changes promptly to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Serving as a clinical instructor and mentor for PTA students.
• Supporting the therapy team and clinic operations as needed.

About You

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Current CPR certification.

Preferred Experience (a plus, not required):

Outpatient orthopaedic or sports medicine therapy experience.
Familiarity with WebPT or other EMR systems.
