Sterling Therapy Providers seeks a qualified Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for The Villa at Stamford. The PTA will implement PT programs and treat residents under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist, aiming to increase independence and function.

Responsibilities include applying treatment plans, guiding residents and families, and coordinating with the rehab team, while maintaining proper documentation and equipment upkeep.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program (PTA).
• Licensed as required by the State.

Responsibilities

• Implements resident's individualized treatment plan under the supervising PT.
• Provides PT treatments including modalities and exercises.
• Assists the PT during tests, evaluations and complex procedures.
• Organizes treatment groups with the PT.
• Instructs residents and caregivers on the PT treatment program.
• Collaborates with rehabilitation team to develop resident programs.
• Maintains accurate documentation for all treated residents.
• Attends resident care meetings as a PT representative.
• Cleans and reports equipment repairs as needed.
• Ensures high quality compassionate service to residents and families.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Physical Therapist Assistant implements physical therapy programs and provides physical therapy treatments to residents to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. 1 Implements resident’s individualized treatment plan as defined by the primary Physical Therapist;
2. 2 Provides individualized physical therapy treatments including modalities and exercises;
3. 3 Acts as an assistant to the Physical Therapist when the Physical Therapist is performing tests, evaluations, and complex procedures;
4. 4 Organizes and facilitates treatment groups in consultation with the physical therapist;
5. 5 Instructs residents, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the physical therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Physical Therapist;
6. 6 Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each resident;
7. 7 Maintains appropriate and timely resident and non-resident documentation for all residents treated;
8. 8 Attends and contributes to resident care, staffing and other required meetings as a representative of physical therapy, under the direction of the physical therapist;
9. 9 Cleans, maintains, identifies, and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary;
10. 10 Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. 1 Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program certified by the American Physical Therapy Association.
2. 2 Licensed as required by the State.
