Job summary

Pensacola-Nursing-and-Rehabilitation-Center in Pensacola, FL is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support residents’ rehabilitation under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The role offers full-time, part-time, and PRN shifts in a skilled nursing facility, focusing on mobility, gait training, and independence.

You will assist with therapy plans, document progress, educate residents and families, and collaborate with the care team.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current PTA certification or license in the state of Florida.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with elderly or rehabilitating residents.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Physical Therapists, nursing staff, and other care team members.
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
• Basic understanding of rehabilitation principles and SNF regulatory guidelines (preferred).
• Ability to lift, support, and assist residents safely during mobility and therapeutic activities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
• Assist residents with mobility training, gait training, transfers, and strengthening exercises
• Implement individualized therapy treatment plans according to resident needs
• Monitor resident progress and document outcomes accurately and timely
• Provide education and support to residents and their families regarding therapeutic activities and home exercise programs
• Maintain a safe and clean therapy environment, ensuring equipment is used appropriately
• Collaborate with nursing staff, therapy teams, and interdisciplinary teams to support overall care plans
• Encourage resident participation and promote independence in daily functional activities
