Job summary

BrightSpring Health Services’ Rehab Without Walls Neuro Rehabilitation program seeks an experienced Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a Home & Community neurorehabilitation role in Oakland. Flexible, 15-20 hours weekly across three days with 1:1, in-person therapy and real-world functional goals.

You will collaborate with OTs, PTs, SLPs and other clinicians, delivering patient-centered care in homes and community settings, with mileage reimbursement and a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted license as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the practicing state.
• Basic Life Support or CPR certification per state requirements.
• Minimum of one year experience as a PTA preferred.
• Knowledge of rehabilitation techniques for complex neurological injury.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services planned, delegated and supervised by the licensed PT.
• Regularly communicates with PT regarding plan of treatment and progress.
• Assists with cleaning and maintenance of equipment and treatment areas.
• Reports equipment issues to ensure safe operation.
• Communicates patient needs to PT and assists with adaptive equipment as needed.
• Maintains patient treatment and billing documentation per regulations and policy.
• Adheres to Code of Conduct and regulatory requirements.
• Attends internal training and continuing education to enhance practice.

Rehab Without Walls is seeking an experienced Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our innovative Home & Community Neurorehabilitation Program; offering stability, support, and flexibility while allowing you to deliver meaningful, real-world rehabilitation.

• An experienced PTA seeking a primary therapist assistant role from first treatment through discharge.
• Interested in a caseload of approximately 15-20 hours per week across 3 days, with consistency and continuity of care.

Our therapy team executes customized treatment plans that deliver real results and exceed patients' expectations.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services planned, delegated and supervised by the qualified Physical Therapist in accordance with the patient's Plan of Treatment
• Confers with Physical Therapist regularly regarding patient's plan of treatment, status of progress toward goals, questions and concerns
• Assists with cleaning and maintenance of equipment, treatment and department areas
• Reports any problems with department equipment to the appropriate personnel to ensure that it is maintained in good working order
• Communicates patient's needs and progress to the Physical Therapist of record and assists in securing special adaptive equipment for patient to improve function. Incorporates the use of adaptive equipment to enhance the rehabilitation program
• Maintains and submits patient treatment and billing documentation in the format and timelines required by the Company, facility, funding source, local, state and federal regulations
• Adheres to standards of the Company's Code of Conduct, policies, Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act, Corporate Compliance programs and appropriate professional practice standards and applicable state/federal laws
• Attends, participates in and/or conducts internal staff development programs and meetings; obtains continuing education as required by company policy and regulations; maintains and enhances clinical practice skills

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted license as a Physical Therapist Assistant by state in which practicing
• Current Basic Life Support or cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification, in accordance state regulations
• A minimum of one year's work experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred
• Demonstrates knowledge of rehabilitation techniques related to complex neurological injury
• Communicates effectively and professionally in verbal and written interactions
• Demonstrates strong organization skills and attention to detail
