Job summary

Vantage Care, LLC is seeking a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to provide quality physical therapy services to residents, helping them achieve maximum functional ability in a supportive long‑term care setting. Under PT supervision, you will schedule treatments, document according to PPS, educate residents and families, supervise technicians and students, and maintain safe, clean clinical spaces.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an APTA-accredited PTA program and eligible for licensure in the state of practice (Massachusetts).
  • Prior long‑term care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the PT in providing physical therapy treatments to residents as determined by the Plan of Care.
  • Manages caseload by scheduling treatment individually or in groups while maintaining efficiency expectations.
  • Instructs resident, family, and caregivers on PT procedures to be continued upon discharge.
  • Adheres to PPS guidelines, ensuring all PT documentation and treatment conforms to documentation/billing policies and procedures.
  • Works with PT to provide oversight and direction of technicians and assists in the supervision and education of affiliated students.
  • Assists in ensuring that the physical surroundings and equipment are sanitary, orderly, and free from conditions that may cause safety hazards.

Job Overview

Provides quality resident care to enable the resident to achieve and maintain the maximum level of functional ability while maintaining a positive level of interaction with the facility and residents.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an APTA accredited PTA school and eligible for licensure in the state in which they are practicing.
  • Prior long‑term care experience preferred.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Complies with ethical, regulatory, procedural and professional standards and practice guidelines as defined by the state of licensure.
  • Assists the PT in providing physical therapy treatments to residents as determined by the Plan of Care.
  • Manages caseload with supervisor by scheduling treatment individually or in groups while maintaining efficiency expectations.
  • Instructs resident, family, and caregivers on PT procedures to be continued upon discharge.
  • Adheres to PPS guidelines, ensuring all PT documentation and treatment conforms to documentation/billing policies and procedures.

Residents’ Rights Functions
  • Maintains resident confidentiality and privacy; fosters feelings of self‑worth and respect by treating residents with kindness and understanding.
  • Knows and complies with the Residents’ Bill of Rights; reports all grievances and resident complaints to the administrator and/or Director of Nursing immediately.
  • Reports any incident involving rehab staff to the RD and Regional Operations Specialist immediately.
Physical Requirements

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds; patient transferring may involve lifting up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Fine motor skills.
  • Visual acuity.
