Job summary

King Manor is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to implement physical therapy programs and treat residents under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. You will help residents gain independence and function through targeted therapies.

The role demands organizing and delivering treatments, guiding residents and families, and coordinating with the rehab team to ensure high-quality, compassionate care in a supportive setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program certified by the APTA.
• Licensed as required by the State.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Implements resident’s individualized treatment plan as defined by the Physical Therapist.
• Provides individualized physical therapy treatments including modalities and exercises.
• Acts as assistant to the Physical Therapist during tests, evaluations, and complex procedures.
• Organizes and facilitates treatment groups in consultation with the Physical Therapist.
• Instructs residents and caregivers in PT treatment techniques under supervision.
• Collaborates with rehab team to develop resident-specific programs.
• Maintains timely documentation for all residents treated.
• Attends care meetings as a PT representative.
• Cleans and maintains equipment; reports needs for repair.
• Delivers high-quality, compassionate care respecting residents' needs and rights.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Physical Therapist Assistant implements physical therapy programs and provides physical therapy treatments to residents to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• 1 Implements resident’s individualized treatment plan as defined by the primary Physical Therapist;
• 2 Provides individualized physical therapy treatments including modalities and exercises;
• 3 Acts as an assistant to the Physical Therapist when the Physical Therapist is performing tests, evaluations, and complex procedures;
• 4 Organizes and facilitates treatment groups in consultation with the physical therapist;
• 5 Instructs residents, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the physical therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Physical Therapist;
• 6 Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each resident;
• 7 Maintains appropriate and timely resident and non-resident documentation for all residents treated;
• 8 Attends and contributes to resident care, staffing and other required meetings as a representative of physical therapy, under the direction of the physical therapist;
• 9 Cleans, maintains, identifies, and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary;
• 10 Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• 1 Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program certified by the American Physical Therapy Association.
• 2 Licensed as required by the State.

JOB SKILLS:

• 1 Good organizational skills and time management skills.
• 2 Good verbal and written communication skills.

PERFORMS RELATED DUTIES:

• 1 Interacts with residents, families, visitors and employees.
• 2 Carries out other tasks as requested in situations where hands‑intervention/participation may be required.
