Trinity Health in Muskegon, MI is seeking a Relief Physical Therapy Assistant for an inpatient rehab setting. This part-time role supports the evaluating PT in delivering prescribed therapy and supervising treatment under licensed oversight.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a physical therapist assistant training program accredited by the APTA.
• Associate degree required.
• State of Michigan PTA license or eligibility before hire.
• American Heart Association BLS or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Providing treatment within licensed scope as required by law and regulation.
• Implementing the written treatment plan and administering treatment per patient goals.
• Train patients and families in use of medical equipment and recommend equipment as needed.
• Participating in discharge planning by communicating with patients, families, and community.
• Continuously assess patient status and treatment effects; review goals with patient and family.

Position Purpose:

The physical therapist assistant will work with the evaluating physical therapist to administer a medically prescribed physical therapy program for their assigned patients/clients. They will provide care under the supervision of the physical therapist responsible for a specific patient's/client's care.

What the Physical Therapist Assistant ( PTA ) Will Do:

• Providing treatment and services within their license's scope, and as required by law and regulati on.

• Accountable for the implementation of a written treatment plan and administers treatment for each patient according to the stated goals.

• Helps train patients and the patient's family in the use of medical equipment and make recommendations for appropriate equipment as necessary.

• Participates in planning for patient discharge by considering and communicating with patients, families , and community.

• Continuously assesses patient's status and effects of treatment when warranted . Reviews goals with patient and family as appropriate during plan of care.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be a graduate from a physical therapist assistant training program accredited by American Physical Therapy Association.

• Required: Associate degree

• State of Michigan Physical Therapist Assistant License or eligible to obtain licensure prior to hire date.

• American Heart Association BLS or equivalent
