The role performs treatment plan activities, documents patient progress, and educates patients and families on exercises and safety at home, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Travel is possible and a CPR-certified PTA license is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required with 0–1 years of experience.
• Must hold PTA licensure in the state and CPR certification.
• Travel: Yes; typically less than 10%.

Responsibilities

• Implements treatment plans designed by Physical Therapists, including exercises and modalities.
• Observes patient responses, documents progress, and reports findings to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Maintains up-to-date documentation of patient responses and progress.
• Provides patient and family instruction on exercises and safety at home.
• Supports therapists in evaluating needs and progress with additional observations.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), under the direction of a Physical Therapist, is responsible for providing therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position's qualifications, professional practices and ethical standards.

• Implements treatment plans designed by Physical Therapists, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities (e.g., heat, cold, electrical stimulation).
• Observes patient responses to therapy, document their progress, and report findings and any concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Observes and maintain up-to-date documentation related to patients’ responses to therapy, document their progress, and report findings to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Provides instructions to patients and their families on exercise techniques, safety precautions, and strategies to support continued progress at home.
• Supports Physical Therapists in evaluating patient needs and progress, providing additional observations and insights.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education: Associate DegreeExperience: 0-1 years

Licenses and CertificationsMust have and maintain a current, valid state PTA licensure or certification

Current valid CPR certification, preferredTravel: Yes. Minimally, as required (Typically less than 10%)
