Position Overview
Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) reports to a Physical Therapist. The role provides therapeutic interventions within an interdisciplinary environment consistent with qualifications and ethical standards.
Licenses and Certifications
- Current, valid state PTA licensure or certification
- Valid CPR certification preferred
Qualifications
- Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited program
- 0–1 year of experience
Roles and Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans designed by Physical Therapists, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities (heat, cold, electrical stimulation).
- Observe patient responses to therapy, document progress, and report findings and concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Provide instructions to patients and families on exercise techniques, safety precautions, and home progress support.
- Support Physical Therapists in evaluating patient needs and progress, offering additional observations and insights.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Other duties as assigned.
