Job summary

Elara Caring in Cleveland, OH, is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to deliver in-home physical therapy services under a supervising PT. You will work directly with patients and caregivers, following established plans to improve mobility and independence.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted PTA license in the state where you will work.
• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Six months or more of PTA experience preferred.
• Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and position patients up to 50 pounds; assistance with transfers and mobility.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services under the treatment plan established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Help patients improve mobility, strength, function, and independence.
• Monitor progress and communicate changes or concerns to the Physical Therapist.
• Educate patients and caregivers on exercises and techniques to support progress between visits.
• Educate patients on safe use of walkers, canes, wheelchairs, and other prescribed devices.
• Deliver care in compliance with physician orders and state requirements.

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Need

• A current, unrestricted PTA license in the state where you will work.
• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Six months or more of PTA experience preferred.
• Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds, including positioning or transferring patients and moving equipment
• Must possess a valid driver's license, maintain an acceptable driving record, OR have reliable transportation to travel between patient homes and assigned work locations
