Job summary

Margate Health & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. The PTA will document treatments and changes in condition and apply age- and condition-appropriate techniques to support patient recovery.

Responsibilities include administering treatment programs, assessing patient status, setting goals, implementing plans, and educating patients on home exercise programs to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Valid PTA license in state of practice.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• 3+ years' clinical experience.

OVERVIEW:

Physical Therapy Assistant to provide direct patient care services under the direction and supervision of a Physical Therapist. The Physical Therapy Assistant will be responsible for documenting patient treatments, changes in condition and other pertinent information as required. The successful candidate will also provide treatment and appropriate therapeutic techniques specific to the age and condition of each patient.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Administer treatment programs as established by Physical Therapists
• Focus on providing the highest quality treatment for patients that allows for excellent patient outcomes
• Assess patient condition using knowledge of basic biological and medical science

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

• Associate Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program

• Current CPR and first aid certification

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• This job operates in a health care setting. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the care center.
• Incumbent may be exposed to virus, disease and infection from patients and specimens in working environment.
• Incumbent may be required to work extended periods of time at a video display terminal.
• Incumbent may experience traumatic situations, including psychiatric, and deceased patients.

REQUIREMENTS:
