Job summary

Iberia Medical Center (IMC) in New Iberia, LA seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our Rehab Services team on a PRN basis. Under a supervising Physical Therapist and the Director of Rehab Services, you will implement treatment plans to restore function, reduce pain, and promote healing across home health, outpatient, and inpatient settings.

The ideal candidate holds an associate degree, an active Louisiana PTA license, and completes clinical rotations with exposure to diverse patient

Qualifications

• Associates degree from PTA program or Grandfather clause with >2 years of multi-setting experience.
• Current valid Louisiana PTA license or Louisiana temporary permit.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients in various rehab settings (home health, outpatient, inpatient).
• Monitor and assess patients and reassess as needed.
• Assist with development of policies/procedures and scheduling.
• Document patient care and participate in daily rehab operations.
• Support delivery of PT services under supervision of PT and Rehab Director.

IMC is currently looking to add a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our Rehab Services team on a PRN basis. Under a supervising Physical Therapist & the Director of Rehab Services, the Physical Therapy Assistant [PTA] will beimplementingtreatment plans and providing medically necessary physical therapy to restorefunction , prevent disability, decrease pain, and promote healing followingdisease, injury or sickness. The PTAwill help the patient reach his/her maximum potential and assume a place insociety while learning to live within the limits of his/her capabilities. This will be done in a variety of settingsincluding home health, outpatient, and inpatient. The therapist will need knowledge andcompetency to provide care based on physical, psycho-social, education level,and safety concerns for neonate, infant, toddler, adolescent, adult and geriatricpopulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:

• Associates degree from approved schoolof PTA, or equal of Grandfather clause with greater than 2 years experience inmultiple settings.
• Current valid Physical Therapy AssistantLicense in Louisiana, or a temporary permit granted by LSBPTE.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

• Successful completion of long termclinical rotations in inpatient and outpatient environments from an accredited PTA school, or one year ofrecent experience in inpatient or outpatient practice.
