Job summary

Orlando Health Advanced Rehabilitation Institute in Orlando is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to provide PT services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The role supports inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation with a focus on orthopedic and neurological conditions.

The TA will coordinate patient care with the multidisciplinary team, counsel patients and families, and ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited program.
• Current Florida license as Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA).
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide Physical Therapy treatment under licensed PT supervision.
• Coordinate patient care with the team and educate patients' families.
• Maintain attendance and punctuality in accordance with Orlando Health policies.

Position Summary

Orlando Health Advanced Rehabilitation Institute offers comprehensive CARF-accredited inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation programs for adults, adolescents and children, with specialty programs in stroke, spinal cord and brain injury rehabilitation. A dedicated 54-bed rehabilitation hospital provides post-acute care for patients requiring medical and intensive rehabilitative therapies covering a full range of orthopedic and neurological conditions. The facility has all-private rooms, three therapy gyms outfitted with the latest technology (e.g., weight-assisted treadmill, robotics for training in arm/hand coordination and walking, and communication-assistance technology), a simulated apartment, and an expansive outdoor space for additional therapeutic activity. Outpatient centers feature interdisciplinary teams working together to help each patient meet their individual rehabilitation goals and achieve the highest possible level of independence.

The Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for providing Physical Therapy treatment under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates ability to appropriately treat patients according to professional standards of practice.
• Interpersonal communication skills include the ability to coordinate patient care with other team members, and counsel patients and their families.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Education/Training
  • Associate degree or graduate from an accredited two-year college program in Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Licensure/Certification
  • Current license in the State of Florida as Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers
• Experience
  • No prior experience required.
