Job summary

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth in Illinois is seeking a qualified Physical Therapy Assistant to join our patient-centered team. This full-time, day-shift position supports safety, delivers evidence-based therapy plans, and collaborates with licensed PTs to achieve optimal outcomes in the Great Lakes Region.

You will build and adjust treatment plans based on evaluations, document progress, and participate in community education and outreach as part of our commitment to whole-person care.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree is required.
• BLS CPR certification is required.
• PTA or PTA-TEMP licensure is required.

Responsibilities

• Supports safety of staff and patients during daily activities.
• Promotes community outreach through events and lectures.
• Implements treatment plans based on PT evaluations and guidelines.
• Modifies treatment plans as needed with the PT.
• Collects patient data and communicates discharge recommendations to PTs.

Shift: Monday- Friday 8am to 5pm.

Location: Service Area: Great Lakes Region

Mileage reimbursement provided: $0.76 per mile

• Practices principles of employee and patient safety during daily job activities.
• Supports consumer marketing and public awareness through participation in community events, educational lectures, and other extensions of clinical expertise to the community.
• Implements individualized treatment plans based on physical therapy evaluations and through consideration of practice standards, recommended techniques, insurance guidelines, and patient needs.
• Modifies treatment plans as necessary based on ongoing assessments in consultation with physical therapist.
• Collects patient data and communicates with the physical therapists regarding discharge recommendations when maximum benefit has been achieved.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Windows, and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Ability to read, write, and speak conversational English effectively.

Ability to communicate effectively in written, verbal, and electronic formats
