Job summary

Talented Medicals Solution is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide supervised therapy across multiple clinical settings, including outpatient and inpatient environments. The role supports licensed Physical Therapists in implementing treatment plans and promoting patient mobility and independence.

The ideal candidate will hold an accredited PTA degree, maintain an active PTA license in the state, and be familiar with EMR systems. BLS may be required per facility policy.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited PTA program.
• Current PTA license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or required according to facility policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments under the supervision and direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Implement individualized treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Help patients improve mobility, strength, balance, coordination, flexibility, endurance, and functional independence.
• Instruct and supervise patients in therapeutic exercises, functional activities, gait training, transfer training, and use of assistive devices.
• Monitor patient progress and report changes in condition or treatment response to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Accurately document treatment sessions, patient progress, goals, and observations in accordance with policies and regulatory standards.
• Educate patients and caregivers regarding treatment plans, home exercise programs, injury prevention, and safe mobility techniques.
• Maintain patient safety and adhere to infection control, HIPAA, and facility policies.
• Prepare treatment areas, maintain equipment, and keep a clean, organized rehabilitation environment.
• Collaborate with physicians and the rehab team to coordinate patient care.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and continuing education as assigned.

Assists in implementing individualized treatment plans designed to restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, prevent disability, and promote overall patient wellness. Collaborates with the rehabilitation team to deliver high-quality patient care across various clinical settings, including outpatient, inpatient, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, home health, and other healthcare environments.

Requirements

Education

• Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program.

Licensure/Certification

• Current Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or required according to facility policy.

Experience

• Previous Physical Therapist Assistant experience preferred.
• Experience in outpatient orthopedics, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, home health, acute care, or other therapy settings preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred.
