Job summary

MedCare Pediatric Group is seeking a Home Health Pediatric Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide one-on-one therapy in children’s homes, daycares, and schools. The role supports flexible scheduling with full-time, part-time, and PRN options, and offers competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities include implementing physician-approved plans of care, educating families, and collaborating with the care team to ensure high-quality pediatric outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program
• Current Texas Physical Therapist Assistant license or eligible to obtain licensure by start date
• Pediatric experience preferred; new graduates encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist
• Implement treatment plans to improve strength, balance, mobility, and functional independence
• Educate families and caregivers on therapeutic exercises and home programs
• Monitor patient progress and communicate updates to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care
• Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation

Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Qualifications & Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program
• Current Texas Physical Therapist Assistant license, or eligible to obtain licensure by the anticipated start date
• One year of experience preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply
• Pediatric experience preferred
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus

• Implement treatment plans to improve strength, balance, mobility, coordination, range of motion, endurance, gait, and functional independence
• Educate and train families and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, positioning, mobility techniques, and home programs
• Monitor patient progress and communicate updates to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care
• Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation
