Job summary

Hattie Larlham in Ohio is seeking a part-time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide compassionate, resident-centered therapy services in our multidisciplinary setting. The role supports both clinical and documentation tasks, with flexible scheduling between 2pm and 7pm on weekdays and weekends.

New grads welcome. Requires Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assisting, Ohio PTA license, Ohio pupil services licensure, and CPR/First Aid.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assisting is required.
  • Current Ohio licensure as a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant is required.
  • Pupil Services licensure from the Ohio Department of Education is required.
  • BCLS and First Aid certification must be current.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing therapeutic services for residents, including preparation, treatment, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with the physical therapist to plan evaluations and treatment programs.
  • Assist in clinical training for students in rehabilitative programs.
  • Complete all required HL training programs to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of current standards of practice to support resident independence.

Job description

Hattie Larlham, a long-term care facility dedicated to providing services to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, has an exciting opportunity for a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA).

  • Part Time 16 hours
  • Very Flexible Scheduling: Between 2pm and 7pm Monday through Friday, and/or anytime between 9am and 7pm on the weekends
Duties
  • Provides best practices while providing ongoing therapeutic services (including preparation, treatment, and documentation) for all residents in assigned settings to assure maximum health and well-being.
  • Provide physical therapist with information to complete evaluations and define treatment and programs (including preparation, treatment, and documentation) for all HL residents in assigned HL settings to assure maximum health and well-being. This may include specialized treatment for orthotics, mobility equipment, and adaptive equipment.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of clinical training for students in rehabilitative academic programs (PT, OT, SLP, LMT, etc.) in all settings.
  • Completes all required HL training programs to maintain compliance.
  • Relationships with persons served are highly complex and require knowledge of current standards of practice. Work requires knowledge of up-to-date techniques, theories, and related research to facilitate active treatment and the persons served attainments of highest level of independence and choice.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assisting.
  • Maintains current Ohio licensure as a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant.
  • Maintains Pupil Services licensure from the Ohio Department of Education.
  • Maintains current BCLS and First Aid certification.
  • Six to 12 months of experience in the field; knowledge of best practices; experience in working with medically fragile children, children with cognitive/developmental disabilities, and children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Knowledge of current regulations and trends is desirable.
  • Valid Ohio Driver's License is required to maintain employment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Offiice365, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel required
