Rehab Associates of Central Virginia Inc. is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to join our outpatient team. You will implement PT programs, follow recovery plans, and deliver therapy to restore and enhance patients' mobility and function.

A strong emphasis on individualized care and collaboration with the PT team drives our patient outcomes. You will document meticulously, administer a range of modalities, and support patients in activities of daily living.

Competenze

• Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant or ability to obtain in Virginia.
• Previous outpatient setting experience preferred.
• Current CPR certification.
• Exercise, sports rehab, and manual-based skills.

Mansioni

• Provide patient care by established protocols and guidelines.
• Complete timely documentation (daily notes, weekly workers' comp reports, progress reports, incident reports).
• Deliver comprehensive patient care using active and passive manual therapies, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and other modalities.
• Administer traction to relieve neck and back pain.
• Instruct and assist patients in functional activities (ambulation, transfers, daily living activities).
• Observe patient responses and report progress to Physical Therapist and Clinical Director.
• Fit and train patients in orthopedic braces, prostheses, and mobility aids.
• Collaborate with the PT team to plan, modify, and coordinate treatment programs.
• Measure joint range, body part dimensions, and vitals to assess treatment effects.

Job Description

You will implement physical therapy programs and activities, follow developed recovery plans, and deliver therapy treatments. You are equally adept at addressing the whole patient and seeing them as individuals. You know your goal is to execute a program to restore, reinforce, and enhance their physical abilities.

• Provides patient care by established protocols and patient care guidelines.
• Responsible for timely documentation, including daily notes, weekly workers' compensation reports, progress reports, and incident reports.
• Provide comprehensive patient care, administer active and passive manual therapeutic exercises, therapeutic massage, heat, light, sound, water, and electrical modality treatment such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, ultraviolet, infrared, and hot and cold packs.
• Administers traction to relieve neck and back pain.
• Instruct, motivate, and assist patients in learning and improving functional activities such as perambulation, transfer, ambulation, and daily living activities.
• Observes patients during treatments, compiles data on patients’ responses to treatments and progress, and reports orally or in writing to the Physical Therapist and Clinical Director.
• Fits patients for, adjusts, and trains patients in the use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices such as crutches, canes, walkers, and wheelchairs.
• Confers with members of physical therapy staff and other health team members, individually and in conference, to exchange, discuss, and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment programs.
• Measures the patient’s range of joint motion, length and girth of body parts, and vital signs to determine the effects of specific treatments or to assist the Physical Therapist in compiling data for patient evaluations.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant or the ability to obtain it in Virginia.
• Previous experience in an outpatient setting preferred.
