Job summary

Warsaw Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Warsaw, NC is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to join a supportive rehab team. You will provide patient care under a PT, help identify suitable patients for rehab, and document progress to ensure quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited university with a BA or AS in Physical Therapy per state requirements.
• Must hold current license/registration in the state of practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of a PT according to state guidelines.
• Assist PT in selecting appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
• Document patient progress with progress notes and obtain PT co-signature.
• Ensure MD orders for treatments, recertifications, and discharges are obtained.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings as directed by Supervisor.
• Supervise junior PTA staff or students when needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with staff, patients, and families.
• Deliver in-service education about patient care as needed.
• Adhere to facility safety and confidentiality policies.

Education

BA or Associates degree in Physical Therapy recognized by the APTA

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associates degree in Physical Therapy that is recognized by the APTA.
• Holds current license and/or registration in the state

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of a PT according to state practice guidelines.
• Assist PT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
• Document patient’s daily participation and progress on progress note in an accurate and timely fashion, and obtain the co-signature of the PT.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, recertification's and discharges.
• Assist with other documentation requirements as indicated and according to state guidelines.Attend facility and rehab meetings when indicated by Supervisor.
• Act as a rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in scheduling of patients as indicated.
• Complete billing and bill patients ethically and accurately for physical therapy services rendered.
• Cover other therapists’ patient caseload during absence as necessary.
• Supervise junior PTA staff members or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationship with co-workers, facility staff, patients and patient families.
• Provide in-service education regarding patient care or physical therapy services to rehab staff, facility staff, hospitals and/or community as needed.
• Comply with all facility safety policies and procedures.
• Comply with patient confidentiality and Federal Resident Rights.
• Report to work on time, adhere to scheduled hours and project a professional image at all times.
• Adhere to productivity requirements.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by demonstrating and communicating in a professional manner so as to foster positive relations with customers, clients, co-workers and managers.
• Perform all other duties assigned by the department Supervisor, Lead Therapist or Regional Manager.
• Comply with all Facility policies re: lunch, sick and time off notification.
• Adhere to any and all other Facility written and oral policies and procedures.
