Job summary

A rehabilitation center in Virginia Beach is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to implement individualized treatment plans and assist Physical Therapists during evaluations and procedures. The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program, possess strong organizational and communication skills, and be licensed in Virginia. Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program certified by the APTA.
• Must be licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required by the state of practice.

Responsibilities

• Implements patient’s individualized treatment plan as established by the primary Physical Therapist.
• Work with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement programs consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient.
• Acts as an assistant to the Physical Therapist during tests and evaluations.
• Instructs patients and families in the skills and techniques of the physical therapy treatment program.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Implements patient’s individualized treatment plan as established by the primary Physical Therapist
• Work with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement programs consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient
• Acts as an assistant to the Physical Therapist when the Physical Therapist is performing tests, evaluations and complex procedures
• Instructs patients, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the physical therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Physical Therapist

Qualifications:

• Must be a graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program certified by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
• Must be licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required by the state of practice
